Frank Fonte was found unconscious around 5 p.m. Sunday by Yorktown Heights firefighters and was pronounced dead a short time later at his home at 1789 Baldwin Road.

Yorktown Police could not confirm the identity until they receive forensic verification and await investigation results, but services have been scheduled for Fonte.

Fonte, who was the sole occupant in the house at the time of the fire, will be remembered from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. July 9 at Clark Funeral Home, 2104 Saw Mill River Road, Yorktown Heights. Officials with the funeral home did not know if additional services will be held.

The two-alarm blaze quickly fully engulfed the home in flames as more than 75 firefighters and EMS personnel responded.

In addition to the Yorktown Heights Volunteer Fire Department, multiple agencies assisted, including the Buchanan Engine Company, Bedford Hills Fire Department, Croton-on-Hudson Fire Department, Millwood Fire Department, Mohegan Volunteer Fire Association, Ossining Fire Department and Somers Volunteer Fire Department.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Westchester County Fire and Origin team, the Yorktown Heights Fire Department, and the Yorktown Police Department.
